2nd May 2002 - Men Die After Speech
At 5.00am this morning, 10 men were found dead at the bottom of a suspension bridge of "You Dare Enter?" National park. Apparently, they were said to have dropped down from a rope they were hanging on to. "It was a nightmare. Seeing 11 people dangling from a rope was horrible. You could see the piece of rope swinging back and forth and it seemed as though at anytime the rope would snap. The suspension bridge could only take 10 people at one go. It must have been an extra person who joined the 10 people who were already on the bridge and caused the bridge to collapse and leaving only a rope hanging there." said Mr Wa Im Zai, a passerby. There was only 1 survivor, a woman. It was odd that the only woman survived and all the men hanging from the rope died. Researches have calculated that this is a 1 in 11th chance, which is pretty slim. "I was in a state of shock at that time. I was hanging from a piece of dangling rope and suddenly I thought of my husband at home. I loved him dearly and started giving a speech about how women should sacrifice themselves for men and because the rope could not tahan 11 people, I said that I would sacrifice myself for the sake of men." said the woman, who declined to reveal her name. Unknowingly, the men started clapping and wiping their tears after hearing my speech. Obviously, they were touched by it. Little did they know that the ground would touch them." "I feel really sad for them." After making that statement, she immediately tried to stifle her giggles and started running off. Authorities warn that users of the suspension bridge should observe all rules and regulations in order for everyone to have a wonderful experience.
