7th May 2002 - 10th Invention Convention

At the Invention Station, several young students were awarded the young inventors award. These young budding talents mesmerized the judges with their skill and creativity. Secondary 2 pupil Yong Yuan shocked everyone with his invention - The waterproof towel. It won him the top prize in the secondary school category. "I wanted to create something which no one would create, a unique thing. Thus, the waterproof towel. I always had trouble with towels as when I am bathing, the hot water vapour from the bath would always wet the towel. So I could not dry myself. Now with this invention, I will never have the same problem again." Truly an ingenious invention, it is noted by analysts that the creativity level on this island is rising and soon, we will be on par with other advanced countries in coming up with useful stuff. Other notable mentions are the solar-powered torchlight and the fireproof wax. The convention will be on for another week at Crap Center.
